Belt of Truth

The truth holds everything together, and helps us stand firm.

Memory verses: John 8:31-32, Ephesians 6:13

Two truths and a lie:

Players tell two truths and a lie about themselves.  Everyone must guess which statement is the lie.

Good discussion starter for older children:

You will need:

  • Belt – a tie around dressing-gown belt is fine, or a buckled trouser belt, etc
  • Strips of paper – try cutting up A4 sheets into 4 pieces lengthwise
  • Bible
  • Colouring pens and pencils

What truths do you know about Jesus?  Write each one on a strip of paper, loop the end round your belt and then glue or staple it.

Tip: Fix the paper to itself rather than your actual belt!

Here are some truths to get you started:

Find a quiet place where you can listen to God.  Ask him to show you which truths about him he especially wants you to remember today.
